La mélodie du tic tac et autres bonnes raisons de perdre son temps, Paris, Flammarion, 2013
Our form of life, and the philosophical tradition, represses wasting time: one has to work to make a living, we all have to work so that social order may be maintained. Or so we believe. Wasting time becomes a form of sabotage. Doing nothing (no work, no screen, no sport) is not so easy. This book explores different ways of wasting, killing, stealing time, melancholy, breakdowns, procrastination, loitering, boredom, daydreaming, smoking… These are imbedded in personal experience or borrowed to fictional characters. But, in the end, the philosopher is the one who is not afraid to miss the train.
